What is a mood board?+
A mood board — moodboard, if you write it that way — is one surface holding the references a piece of work is aiming at: sites, UI shots, type, colour, video. It exists so a direction can be looked at and argued with, rather than described in a paragraph everyone reads differently.
Is save.design only a mood board tool?+
It’s much more than a mood board. Save whole websites with their tech stack, capture sections with the extension, upload files, write pages, discover inspiration in the main feed, and find everything in plain words. Canvas is where those pieces come together into something you can actually use.
What can I put on a board?+
Anything in your library — saved websites, captured UI, links, uploaded files and videos, written pages. Drag them out of the panel beside the board, paste a URL, or drop a file straight onto it. You can also drop a note, a text label, a box, an arrow, or a scribble.
How do I make a mood board?+
Open a canvas and drag in what you already saved. Arrange it until the direction is obvious, group the pieces that belong together and name the groups, write what you're going for on a note, then flip the board public and send the link.
Can I search through my boards?+
Yes. Your boards are searchable by the words you put on them: titles, notes, frame labels, and connections. So months later, you can type a phrase you remember and jump straight back into the ideas you collected and organized. Your boards become a searchable knowledge space, not just a canvas you used once.
Can I share one?+
Flip it public and it gets a link that renders on the server, references resolved, for someone with no account. They can read it, open anything on it, and take a copy into their own library if they want to carry the direction forward.
Which plan includes it?+
Every paid plan, and canvases are unlimited on all of them — Basic is $3 a month. The curated library of UI, and the personal MCP endpoint that lets an AI tool read a board, come with Individual.
