Some designs only make sense when they move — a hover state, a scroll reveal, a menu opening. Now you can record any section of a webpage directly from the Save Design extension. Select an area, hit Record, and capture up to 60 seconds of motion. You can trim the clip before saving it. Each recording is automatically analyzed, titled, described, and categorized by section type, just like your screenshots. That means you can search for what the interaction does, not just what the page is called. “sticky nav that shrinks on scroll” “hover card flip” And you can start/stop recording with Alt+Shift+R without opening the extension. Ask Claude, Cursor, or any other AI tool connected to Save.Design to build a moodboard for your project, and it’ll do the research and layout for you. It searches our curated library of UI from real websites, finding specific references by meaning: hero sections, typography, colour, motion, grids, pricing tables, and more. It then lays them out on a board in your workspace, grouped into titled frames. But it doesn’t just drop pictures onto a canvas. It writes the brief on the board and adds labelled arrows to the key references, explaining what to take from each: “Energy as weight.” “The headline breathes.” “Colour like this.” That context is what makes the board useful to AI. Instead of copying one reference or falling back to the same familiar design patterns, it can understand what each reference is meant to contribute and combine them into something new. You stay in control Anything AI adds is marked with a Claude badge. AI can only change or remove what it created. Anything you made is read-only, and it can never delete anything you’ve saved. The references it picks are also saved into the board’s folder, so they stay in your library and remain searchable. Powered by MCP This works through MCP, the open standard that lets AI tools connect to apps like Save.Design. It’s included with Individual and Team plans. Already connected? We’ve given Save Design a small visual refresh. As Save Design grows, we wanted the identity to grow with it — so we’ve updated our logo. Same Save Design, just a new mark that better represents where we’re heading. Meet the new logo. . ✨

Saving website inspiration just got a little easier. We added keyboard shortcuts for the *Capture* tool. Press Alt+Shift+S (Option+Shift+S on Mac) to open the capture overlay directly on the page. From there, select an area, choose a folder, and save without opening the extension first. You can rebind the shortcut anytime in `chrome://extensions/shortcuts`. The extension now also checks where you've already saved a website. Folders that already contain the link are marked before you save, and the link is added only to the folders where it's missing. This works for bulk tab saves too! We also ignore tracking parameters like `?utm_source`, so the same website doesn't end up saved as multiple links just because it came from different campaigns. You can now search saved items using the notes you've added to them. Search works even when you only remember part of the note. This makes it easier to find websites, screenshots, links, and other saved items based on the specific context you added when saving them. Save it with an intent. Find it when you need it. 📚

Capture screenshots, and we'll automatically add context to them, so when you need all screenshots containing "hero" sections, you can simply type "hero" and retrieve them instantly. Saved inspiration links are no longer just links. Once you hit save, the system analyzes the tech stack behind them: frameworks, fonts, animation libraries, and platforms like Spline, Rive, and more. And the coolest part: in our "Elements" tab, you'll find recorded interactions, transitions, and captured sections, all curated and focused exclusively on UI and design elements. We noticed that our users usually save websites into folders once the analysis is complete. So we decided to make it much simpler! Now, you don’t need to wait for the analysis to finish if you already know you want to save a website to a specific folder. Just paste the link, choose a folder, and hit save! The checkbox is enabled by default, so your links are saved as web inspiration while we automatically pull all the technical details. More features coming soon! 🚀
