Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 3, 2026
This policy explains what information is processed when you use save.design, why it is processed, who helps us operate the service, how long information is kept, and the choices you have. We aim to collect only what we need to run the Service.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information — the email address you use to sign in via our authentication provider, along with basic profile details you choose to add, such as a display name, username, or avatar.
- Content you save — URLs, images, videos, notes, components, and other materials you explicitly choose to save through the website or extension.
- Workspace data — folder names, tags, notes, and the organizational structure you create, including members you invite to collaborate.
- Usage information — actions you take in the product, such as pages viewed and features used, collected to understand how the Service is used and to improve it.
- Device and log information — information such as browser type, device type, approximate location derived from IP address, and IP address itself. This is commonly logged by our hosting, authentication, security, and analytics providers, and is generally retained only for a limited period.
- Payment information — when you subscribe to a paid plan, billing details are collected and processed by our payment provider. We do not store your full card number.
- Support communications — when you contact us directly, such as a support request or feedback, we keep what you send so we can respond and follow up.
2. What We Don't Do
- We do not track the browsing history on websites you visit.
- We do not monitor your activity on other websites outside the Service.
- We do not sell or rent your personal information.
- We do not use cookies or trackers for advertising.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide and operate the Service — storing and organizing the content you save and enabling collaboration.
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- Process subscriptions, billing, and refunds.
- Understand product usage so we can fix issues and improve features.
- Respond to your support requests and communicate with you.
- Detect, prevent, and address abuse, fraud, or security issues.
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. Cookies & Local Storage
We use cookies and similar local storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure product usage. We do not use them for advertising. You can clear or block cookies through your browser, though some features may not work as expected if you do.
5. Service Providers
To operate the Service, we rely on a small number of trusted third-party providers. They may process certain information strictly on our behalf and only as needed to provide their service to us — not for their own purposes. This includes providers for hosting and content delivery, authentication and data storage, payment processing, product analytics, transactional email, and related infrastructure and support.
We may also disclose information when we believe in good faith that it is necessary to comply with the law or a valid legal request, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, the public, or save.design. If save.design is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
6. Payments
Subscriptions are handled by our third-party payment provider, which acts as merchant of record. When you subscribe, the payment provider collects and processes your payment details under its own privacy policy. We receive information such as your subscription status and the country and partial card details needed for billing and records, but we do not store your full payment card number. See our Refund Policy for details on billing and refunds.
7. Analytics
We use a third-party product analytics service to understand how people use the product — for example, which features are used and where users run into problems. This helps us prioritize improvements. We use analytics to improve the Service, not for advertising, and we do not sell this information.
8. Chrome Extension
The Save Design Chrome extension requests the following permissions:
- activeTab — to read the current page URL and title when you choose to save it.
- contextMenus — to provide right-click save options.
- storage — to store your authentication session locally.
- host permissions — to download images and videos from websites you choose to save.
The extension only activates when you explicitly interact with it. It does not run in the background or collect data without your action.
9. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored using established cloud infrastructure providers, and files such as images and videos are kept in cloud storage. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete content, it is removed from our servers. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we need to keep certain records — for example, billing records — to meet legal or accounting obligations.
11. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update much of your information directly in the app, or contact us at the email below to make a request. We will respond in line with applicable law.
12. Data Deletion
You can delete any saved content at any time through the app. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at the email below.
13. International Data Transfers
We and our service providers may process and store information in countries other than the one you live in, including the United States. Where information is transferred internationally, we rely on our providers' safeguards to protect it in line with applicable law.
14. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
